Summer rains a great time to do some extra baking

10 Jul

If you have a bread  maker this is for you……

I am going to give my version of this recipe because I have done it this way for years and turns out awesome.

Always a hit at any get together

Savory Pull- Apart Bread

Put ingredient in this order

1 stick  soft butter

1/2 cup water and 1/2 milk together (I micro for 6-8 sec so not cold)

1 egg beaten

3 1/2 cups bread flour

1/2 cup sugar

tsp salt  ( I use kosher or sea) can use reg. iodized too

Italian seasoning (I don’t measure but around 2 or 3 T.)

Parmesan cheese  ( I use blends if I can find it) ex. Pizza Topping has spices mixed in

3 T yeast

Put on dough cycle

Right before cycle complete:

Melt 1 to 1 1/2 sticks of butter

Pour into 1 gal zip lock bag—set aside

When cycle complete dump out and cut or tear into 20 pieces and roll into balls

Put balls into gal zip lock with butter, zip up and turn around to get butter over all ball.

Unzip and pour everything into greased bundt pan and lay piece of wax paper over top.

Let rise in warm place. Time will vary depending on temp. Warmer the better. If you have a gas oven

you can place in at 170 degree leaving door open slightly.  I let it rise 1 hour. It will rise different every time.

Should rise almost double but doesn’t matter it is all good.

Then bake at 350 degree for 20 – 25 minutes

Turn out onto serving plate.

Start eating and hope you enjoy

Family reunions

18 Jun

Had a great family reunion at Dana Peak Park on Still house lake.

And of course way TOO MUCH food, brisket, sausage, pea salad, bean salad, cheese dip, fruits and veggies, potato salad,

pies, banana pudding (was all gone when I went to get some:(….)  and much , much more.

I brought my easy cherry cobbler and my bread machine savory pull apart bread.

Cobbler recipe:

Melt stick of butter in a 9×9 baking pan

In bowl mix: 3/4 cup self rising flour

3/4 cup sugar

3/4 cup milk

1/8 t. almond extract

Stir this all together an pour into butter in pan

Add 1 can pie filling of choice

Bake @ 350 degrees for 55 minutes

Enjoy…………………

I will post the pull apart bread recipe on next blog.

It is NOT a low calorie recipe either, that is why it is soooo good.

choosing the right cutting board

choosing the right cutting board.

choosing the right cutting board

Wood cutting boardsImage made from a durable bamboo material area very durable and good for general cutting purposes.  Because of the grain of the wood you have the lease amount of movement when cutting.  Wood cutting boards also have a natural anti-septic that help eliminate bacteria.  Cleaning is as easy as soap and water but to help preserve and keep from warping wipe down with mineral oil.

Plastic cutting boards Imageare made out of super high density polyethylene plastic and tend to be the most popular.  Plastic cutting boards are dishwasher safe, stain resistant, warp resistant, non absorbent and resistant to bending chipping and cracking.  A big advantage of plastic is they do not affect  the sharpness of a knife. Also, with the variety of different colors you can color code what board you use for what.  Ex. Red for beef, etc.

Glass cutting boards Imageare made of tempered glass that are odor and stain proof, non-scratch, heat resistant, multi-purpose, and easy to clean.  Also have a design to match your kitchen decor and add flavor to your kitchen.  Easy clean up.

Hope this helps with making you choice of which cutting board(s) will work for you

Hello world!

29 May

Well, hello.  This is my first blog with wordpress and my second blog ever.

I have been in education for 31 years and I still love it.  But, I have recently began

learning how to find a niche I like and know about and also, found a drop shipper who

I can work with.  My niche is wood cutting boards, plastic cutting boards, glass cutting boards

and a quality selection of kitchen knives.  Tomorrow is our last day of school so I can have more

time to blog and add directories to my site.  I have learned so much and have an awesome coach

helping me.  I hope ya’ll have a great week .
